Back in 2021 when "Silo" was still finding its cast, the series — which hails from "Justified" showrunner Graham Yost and Oscar-nominated director Morten Tyldum ("The Imitation Game") — was going by a different title, "Wool." Howey has since written two more novels, "Shift" and "Dust," and is currently working on an unnamed fourth.

“9-1-1” knows how to hook viewers after a long hiatus, and Monday’s winter premiere proved that not even fan-favorite characters are safe from the line of fire.
The Fox hit drama series returned with its first installment since November, featuring a brand new catastrophe hitting Los Angeles: a severe thunderstorm causing emergencies across the city for the Station 118 crew to help clean up. As the team juggles personal drama with responding to the various crises, the episode reaches a devastating climax when firefighter Evan “Buck” Buckley (Oliver Stark) is struck by lightning during a call. The intense hour ended as the rest of the team rushed to help the beloved first responder, getting him in an ambulance and attempting to restore his heartbeat.

There seems to be no shortage of post-apocalypse content nowadays. Obviously, the TV world is dominated by “The Last of Us” discussions, but even before then, we had recent shows like “Sweet Tooth,” “Station 11,” “Y: The Last Man,” and about a dozen different “The Walking Dead” series. Well, it appears studios aren’t done with that yet, even as the world recovers from our own serious worldwide virus, with the upcoming “Silo.”

One major drawback of Fortnite’s new reality-altering augments is the random way in which they’re selected and offered to players, but luckily players can get more variety by using rerolls. Fortnite’s augments are a set of powerful perks players can add to their characters throughout a match to boost their combat, mobility, and looting capabilities. However, despite being able to claim augments at regular intervals, players can only choose between two random augments whenever they’re made available. Rerolls can be a useful tool for strategically minded players looking to create a synergized set of perks.
Fortnite players will be prompted to select a brand-new augment for their characters every few minutes, but it’s far from guaranteed that the game’s best augments will be up for grabs. When selecting augments through the in-game menu, players also have the option to reroll, which shuffles in two new augments chosen at random.

Nowadays, TV is practically the only thing we can rely on; that new and returning shows will delight and unite audiences in otherwise confusing times. Whether your life is consumed by some newbie called “Severance” or invigorated by the impending return of U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens, TV will be unflinchingly at your side, as it has in years passed and will be in years to come. IndieWire’s TV team picked the series we’re most excited about — mostly new, but with a few oldies we couldn’t resist including — and already the year seems a bit brighter.
Here are IndieWire’s 11 most anticipated TV shows of 2023.

“Selma” star David Oyelowo has played spies, saints, and even a guy who drowns a dog in “Chaos Walking,” but you’ve never seen him in a role quite like Svengali-esque architect Edward in “The Girl Before,” which premieres on HBO Max on Feb. 10. It’s based on the 2016 novel of the same name by J.P. Delaney, who adapted it for television.
Gugu Mbatha-Raw stars as Jane, who’s trying recover from a tragic loss. She applies to live rent-free at One Fulgate House, an ultra-modern, minimalist house designed by Edward, who has some very strict rules for his tenants. Jane encounters his rarely-given approval, and he soon makes his romantic intentions towards her clear. He becomes her lover as well as her landlord, but when she learns the previous female tenant, Emma (Jessica Plummer) – who looked remarkably like her – died in the house, she wonders if she can really trust him.

“When you watch this show, you’re probably thinking, ‘Gosh, this is a bit crazy.’” So says David Oyelowo of his character in HBO Max’s twisty psychological thriller “The Girl Before.”
In the four-episode series, Oyelowo stars as Edward Monkford, the brooding architect behind a one-of-a-kind ultra-minimalist home in London that comes with a daunting set of rules. Viewers follow two women, Jane (Gugu Mbatha-Raw) and Emma (Jessica Plummer), during separate timelines in which they inhabit Edward’s house and subsequently enter relationships with the mysterious owner.
In exchange for affordable rent, the women are expected to live according to Edward’s stipulations: no pictures, no ornaments, no children, no books—the list goes on, to the tune of 200 rules.
Oyelowo’s Edward is unfazed by the home’s unique setup: “All buildings are designed to have an effect on people: castles to intimidate; churches to inspire,” he says in the second episode.

“Kate, how the fuck are you?,” the “Dune” star asked by way of introduction during a recent Zoom conversation conducted from the guest bedroom of her house in London.
No one would ever mistake Rebecca Ferguson for a shrinking violet. Bawdy and instantly easy to talk to, the Swedish actress was juiced up from rehearsals for her starring role in the upcoming Apple sci-fi series “Wool.” Ferguson said she was still wearing her training clothes and “sitting on a pillow made out of an old cashmere jumper.” She’s not the crafty one, she’s quick to note.
