Chevrolet Sonic Overview
Available as either a five-door hatchback or four-door sedan, the Chevrolet Sonic compact transcends the stereotypical economy car classification. Powered by a turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder paired with either a six-speed manual or automatic, the Sonic manages to be thrifty and entertaining to drive if not genuinely fast. The passenger cabin offers a snug, tailored vibe and the hatchback provides 47.4 cubic feet of cargo capacity with the rear seats folded flat, or 19.7 cubic feet when in the upright position; the sedan offers 14.7 cubic feet of storage in the trunk. Ten standard airbags round out the Sonic’s appeal as a prime candidate for a first car, commuter vehicle or a second vehicle for a growing family.
Trim Specifications
The RS package is standard on the hatchback and available on the sedan; it includes pushbutton start, navigation, a leather-wrapped flat-bottom steering wheel, piano black interior décor, RS-logo floor mats and a stylish sport body kit with a rear spoiler and upgraded safety tech including forward collision alert, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning and side blind zone alert with lane change.
Steering wheel infotainment controls, air-conditioning and a 60/40 folding rear seat are standard on all trims. Remote start is standard on LT and Premier hatchback, Premier sedan and LT sedan when equipped with an automatic transmission.
