Storyline
Reese is leading the surveillance on the latest number, 24-hour locksmith Terry Easton. When Reese sees Terry clandestinely breaking into an investment firm, he finds an obviously scared Terry inside with a bomb strapped to his wrist, which Reese is able to dismantle. Reese will learn that Terry's wife Carla is being held hostage by whoever forced Terry to do the break-in by strapping that bomb to his wrist, that person vowing to kill Carla if Terry doesn't comply. Based on voice recognition of the messages left by that person to Terry's cell phone, Finch knows that the person behind what is happening is a mastermind criminal nicknamed The Voice, his identity still unknown. Because of The Voice's deep criminal history, Finch believes he has to call in specialized assistance to find out who The Voice is and what his end game with Terry is. While Reese brings Terry into the precinct for safe keeping, he finds that the precinct is abuzz with activity, including a Hispanic gang called the Templarios being hauled in by a bunch of uniforms. Reese also finds that Fusco is sticking to his guns in not wanting to be involved anymore, he who is assigned to question an immigrant livery cab driver named Amir Saddiq about his unregistered firearm which was found to be used in a couple of yet unsolved murders. Reese, Finch and their extra help will find that The Voice has laid out an intricate plan to use the activity in the precinct to his advantage. Meanwhile, Root is following another number, that for Matthew Stone, a maintenance worker for radio antennae throughout the city. While she believes Matthew is probably up to no good, Root will eventually discover that the Machine has an entirely different reason for her specifically to tail this number. And Shaw is slowly making her way from South Africa back to New York. With all this time on her hands, she comes to a conclusion about her usefulness to the team based on the over seven thousand simulations Samaritan, Greer and Lambert put her through if she indeed is able to make it back in one piece. —Huggo

- TriviaSotto Voce is Italian for "under the voice", that is, to speak in a low voice for emphasis. The technique is designed to suggest revelation of a secret, or a piece of information that might otherwise shock or offend.
- GoofsIn the opening scene the coyote (person smuggling someone across the border) tells the family he was transporting to "walk northeast about ten miles." The US is one of only three countries (along with Liberia and Myanmar) that don't use the metric system, so they should have mentioned a distance in kilometers given that they're south of the Mexico/US border (as evidenced by the license plate on the truck and their instructions to head northeast towards the border). Since the coyote's truck had Texas license plates he is all probability a U.S. citizen and would be used to telling people distances in miles, not kilometers.

One Of The Best Episode This Season & Freaking Thrilling at best !!!!
Titled "Sotto Voce" which translates into 'Under the Voice', This Crackerjack of a 9th episode of Final season of POI delivered Thrills & action backed by a solid story-line. The reason, A series like Person of Interest works is that its writers don't discard old plots & characters even in its fag-end closing time. A dangerous & Unseen antagonist 'heard' in the 3rd season in its 15th episode - Last Call is brought back in a subtly done & packed with suspense episode which pits the team yet again with a invisible force. John Reese & Det. Fusco are trying to sort their differences over secrets held back with a new number surfacing & things not being what they seems to be, with the minor background plot involving Root on her own single mission & Shaw continuing in her quest to break free & take down Samaritan. Without giving out spoilers, this episode deserves to be seen to be enjoyed more than ever.
Pluses : The whole trapped In a location scenario, Hostage held & Elias stealing the show after a Long, long time. Minuses : None Overall : one of the best episode in this season & a reason to cheer for the concluding 4 episodes.
