You know those series you keep trying and trying to go back to but it just doesn't fit with you, Frieren is that for me. The first volume and a half (I think that's right) was excellent. The more the series goes I feel like it just tappers off and doesn't know what it wants to be. I don't know... I just loved how the beginning was but after volume 4 I just lost interest with the world and the characters.
Great review. Their is a lot this series has to offer and I'm glad a story like this is able to be so popular.

Basically my thoughts on the series
I've bounced off of it a couple times, but the demons really don't interest me one bit. The much more fascinating parts are Frieren coming to understand life and the perspectives of the other races, and while that content is absolutely still there after the demon conflict starts it seems to take a back seat for longer than I would like.
