NC Special Cup Report: Ebusua Dwarfs 1-2 Karela United FC - 'Merciless' Karela beat depleted Dwarfs at home

Coach Johnson Smith's side were the only team to record an away victory in the match-day one of the GFA Normalization Committee Special Competition.

Karela United FC posted a 2-1 home defeat on Ebusua Dwarfs at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
 
The Green and Red lads began the game on a good note as they opened the score in the early minutes.
 
Winger Emmanuel Osei Baffour gave Karela United the lead after  converting a penalty awarded to them on the 15th minute of the game.
 
Bright Luqman and Osman Mohammed squandered a three goal glaring opportunities which could have helped them ran rout in the first department.
 
The visitors gained possession to pile much pressure on Ebusua Dwarfs to double the lead before the break.
 
Youngster Diawiase Taylor ended the first half in a 2-0 win in favor of Karela United with his beautiful goal on the stroke of halftime.
 
Back from the break, Ebusua Dwarfs gained possession in the early minutes with several fearsome attacks which earned them a goal and penalty kick.
 
Substitute Abdul Dramani registered the consolation goal for the Crabs lads with his first touch on the 63rd minute.
 
A late spot-kick awarded to Ebusua Dwarfs was squandered by Osman Mohammed after goalkeeper Kofi Mensah brilliantly fisted it out.
 
The match ended in a 2-1 win in favor of Karela United FC.
