The TGA aims to attract and retain skilled staff and supports a culture of high performance, continuous learning, and scientific excellence through a focus on:

  • effective leadership and management

  • being an employer of choice

Our working environment

Our main office is located in Canberra in the suburb of Symonston. This is a semi-rural environment but only a short distance from shops, schools and other amenities. Few staff would travel more than 20 to 30 minutes to or from work by car and parking is free on site. A bus stop is conveniently located at the front gates for those travelling by public transport.

On site amenities at TGA Symonston include a gym, tennis court, walking track and cafe.

We also have an active social club and many TGA staff participate in sporting activities at lunchtimes including soccer, table tennis and fitness classes. On a regular basis the TGA participates in fundraising events and raffles with the proceeds being donated to charity.

There are a small number of specialist staff located in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide.
