Who will have the best Black Friday KitchenAid Mixer deals this year?

As KitchenAid doesn’t have their own Black Friday sale, we reckon that the best deals will come from Amazon and Lakeland this year.

While Amazon tends to offer up some winning Black Friday deals on KitchenAids every year and they’ve already started handing out discounts, the best overall discount actually came from the kitchen specialist store, Lakeland, last year. They reduced their KitchenAid 4.8L Artisan Stand Mixer down to £300 from its original price of £550. With a saving of £250, it was unmatched throughout the season.

But other retailers will also have deals on KitchenAid Mixers this year, such as:

Will there be more KitchenAid deals on Cyber Monday?

Yes, there will almost certainly be KitchenAid deals on Cyber Monday. While the Black Friday vs. Cyber Monday debate wages on, we’re here to tell you to snap up a deal when you see it.

Cyber Monday is on November 29 in 2021, coming after the Black Friday weekend which starts on November 26. Normally, there are new deals announced every Cyber Monday on a whole range of products – including KitchenAid Mixers. However, some deals may just be carried over from Black Friday so you’ll be seeing all the same offers over the weekend.

Many retailers also kept their offers on KitchenAid Mixers live in the first week of December. So if you do end up missing the big shopping weekend, you may not lose out on the discounts completely. There’s always another chance to bag a bargain!

So should you wait for Cyber Monday? The best idea is to snap up a discount when you see it as there’s no guarantee it will still be around even 24 hours later.

Which KitchenAid Mixer is the best one to buy on Black Friday?

The top model is naturally the simplest answer, GoodtoKnow’s consumer editor Heidi Scrimgeour says, but it can depend on what you’re going to use the KitchenAid Mixer for exactly.

“I’m always going to say the same thing – if you’re investing in a ‘big ticket’ item for your kitchen and can afford the top range model, go for it. A premium model is typically more expensive for good reasons – the features and functionality will outperform the cheaper models and you’re practically guaranteed to get more bang for your buck,” she says.

“Ultimately, though, it depends on how you’re going to use the product. Pro baker? Go for the most expensive option. It’s literally an investment in your business and possibly even an allowable expense that you won’t pay tax on – check with your accountant. Either way, your business will thank you for that bigger bowl capacity and higher motor power. Generally speaking, bowl-lift mixers are best for professional use as you can slide the bowl in and out – a must-have feature if your KitchenAid gets serious daily use.”

For the rest of us, Heidi recommends a tilt-head mixer. “On the other hand, you might be treating yourself or someone you love to a KitchenAid but still consider this a luxury product that you’re splurging on. In that case, the most affordable model isn’t going to disappoint you – not when we’re talking about brands as trusted as KitchenAid. At £349 the 3.3l tilt-head mixer is the perfect entry-level KitchenAid stand mixer. It’s neat and compact and thus especially good for bijou kitchens,” Heidi says, adding that it’s worth stretching to the 4.8l mixer for £399 if you’ve got the space for it.

“Look into the personalisation options for an extra-thoughtful gift. And if Santa is picking up the bill for this (lucky you), I’d pop the 6.9l KitchenAid Artisan Bowl-Lift Stand Mixer on your list (£699) or push the boat out and go the limited edition model.”

What is the difference between the KitchenAid Tilt-Head and Bowl-Lift mixers?

The KitchenAid Tilt-Head Mixer is the classic design you’ll recognise anywhere. It allows you to tilt the top of the mixer so you have easier access to the bowl. The small and medium models are Tilt-Head and are generally used in domestic kitchens. They come in 3.3L , 4.3L or 4.8L bowl capacity.

The Bowl-Lift Mixer is larger and sturdier with a bigger bowl capacity of either 4.8L or 6.9L. These have arms that pick up the bowl to bring it closer to the central attachment (such as a whisk or paddle). These models are better adapted for larger-scale baking and cooking so are popular with professionals.

What accessories come with your KitchenAid?

All KitchenAid models come equipped with three stand mixer accessories. These are guaranteed to save you time in the kitchen – whatever you’re whipping up:

    • Wire whip: The whisk is your go-to gadget when making a merengue. Or any other recipes that require egg-beating for that matter. Similarly it can whip cream and is a timesaver with homemade sauces like mayonnaise.
    • Flat beater: Perfect for mixing together thicker ingredients like cake mixtures and batter.
    • Dough hook: Exactly what it says on the tin. Your dough hook expertly mixes your pizza or pasta dough for professional results every time.

These accessories are made from a mix of stainless steel and aluminium. And this is a conscious choice, so that they can continue to do the job after 5 years plus. It’s worth noting though that they aren’t dishwasher safe. So be sure to hand wash if you want to keep them in mint condition and working for the longevity.

Why are KitchenAid Mixers so expensive?

The quick answer is that design and engineering of this quality comes at a cost. KitchenAid mixers have always been expensive. When the first model launched in 1920s America it cost $200 (around £150), the equivalent of around £2,000 today. The modern mixer you know and love is fashioned on the 1937 Model K, which was more affordable but didn’t compromise the excellence consumers had come to expect.

Thanks to market changes and demand, the cheapest model on the KitchenAid website at the time of writing is the Classic Mixer Tilt-Head, which is an arguably more affordable £349. The most expensive stand mixer on the site is the Mixer Bowl Lift 6.9L Professional – expect to pay around £799 for this feat of engineering.

If those prices are still too steep it’s worth shopping around for refurbished or discontinued mixers. Check out the KitchenAid outlet store on Ebay.

Are KitchenAid Mixers worth the money on Black Friday?

There’s no doubt about it, hundreds of pounds is a lot of money. But you have to consider what you get out of a KitchenAid Stand Mixer.

First, there’s the design – it works so well it’s only been slightly modified over the years. In fact, KitchenAid parts are still compatible with models going as far back as the 1930s. They are also solid, reliable, energy efficient and easy to clean.

Second, purchase a KitchenAid Stand Mixer and you can expect to own a quality product you probably won’t have to replace in your lifetime. There’s a good reason why celebrity chefs and professional kitchens use KitchenAid Stand Mixers – these are appliances that are built to last.

Third, they’re probably the most versatile appliance in your kitchen. These mixers can form dough, mix cake batter, whisk eggs, whip creamed potatoes and make butter from cream, and that’s before you’ve even used any of the extra attachments. Extras allow cooks to roll and cut pasta, grind meat, stuff sausages, slice and dice vegetables, shred cheese and veggies, core fruit, spiralise, make ice cream, mill flour and juice – amongst other uses.

Fourth, if aesthetics mean a lot to you, KitchenAid Stand Mixers are sleek and shiny stainless steel. What’s more, there’s a range of colours so you’re likely to find one to match your kitchen. There are currently 30 colours to choose from, with names such as Candy Apple, Majestic Yellow, Fog Blue, Pebbled Palm and Velvet Blue. You can also personalise your mixer. Just add a different bowl and engrave the head with the text of your choice.

Last but by no means least, KitchenAid Stand Mixers carry a guarantee to protect the buyer.

What is the difference between KitchenAid Mini, the KitchenAid Classic and KitchenAid Classic Artisan?

Not much – but the difference may matter to some cooks. The Mini (which is also Artisan) is the smallest option but not the cheapest. It has a 3.3L capacity, comes with three attachments, and is ideal for people with smaller kitchens.  It currently costs £349 on the KitchenAid website.

The Artisan models have bigger bowls, more powerful motors and come in many colours. These models start from £399.

The 4.3L Classic model only comes in black or white. Yet it still offers the same degree of reliability and the same speed options as Artisan mixers. According to KitchenAid, it’s a ‘popular entry-level model.’ It is currently £349 on Amazon.

It’s worth noting that if you sign up to the KitchenAid newsletter you get 5% discount off your next purchase.
