    Sebi has proposed a ‘Trade-plus-one’ (T+1) settlement cycle from January 1, where the trades will get settled the day after the transaction. Initially, exchanges can pick the stocks where they want to offer the next-day settlement.

    Sebi wants to shift to T+1, with settlement of trade on the next day, from T+2 now. It has said that exchanges have the option to switch to this system from January 1 next year for select stocks.
