This is a series of interviews with leading ethnomusicologists, about their lives working in the field of ethnomusicology.
The speakers in this series, most of whom are or have been active members of the British Forum for Ethnomusicology, discuss their early musical influences and how they came to be interested in World and Traditional Music. They talk about other ethnomusicologists who inspired them and reflect on what the word 'ethnomusicology' means. They also share their reminiscences on fieldwork and the way in which developments in recording technology have shaped fieldwork methodology. Finally, they reflect on their legacies and consider how their work might be used as educational resources in the future.
