Subspecialist trainees, excluding CU trainees, must successfully complete an oral examination as part of their subspecialty training.
Subspecialty Oral Examination Format
- The Subspecialty Oral Examination will be held in an online format until further notice.
- The examination comprises 8/9 stations.
- Each station is scored out of 20 marks; a total of 180 marks is available in the examination.
- Candidates are given 5 minutes reading time for each station where notes may be taken, followed by 15 minutes of interaction with the examiners.
- The total examination time is approximately 3 hours, however this may vary from year to year depending on the number of candidates enrolled.
Subspecialty Oral Online Examination Venue
Candidates will be asked to attend a Clifton’s Examination Testing Centre located in the capital city where they currently reside. Invigilators will be present at the examination and examiners will deliver the questions to the candidates via Zoom.
