Located between 195th and 196 Streets, the lot is closest to the 179th Street subway station, serviced by the E and F trains. New York City School Construction Authority is listed as the owner behind the applications.
Fresh Meadows is about to see two adjacent new developments at 61-10 and 61-12 182nd Street, just south of the Long Island Expressway. Each of the buildings will have a total construction area of about 6,200 feet, with both having 1,718 square feet of commercial space on their ground levels, topped by 2,626 square feet of community facility space, to be occupied by an ambulatory, diagnostic, or treatment center. Anthony Ng of Architects Studio NY is designing the two structures, and Zhou Xu of 182 Plaza LLC is listed as their developer.
ABCapstone Group has filed applications for a three-story, 32,363-square-foot mixed-use building at 179-24 Union Turnpike, located in Fresh Meadows, Queens. There will be 4,841 square feet of ground-floor retail space, followed by a 16,799-square-foot daycare facility across parts of the ground floor and the entire second and third floors. Dinah Klamert’s Little Neck-based firm KOH Architecture is the architect of record. The 14,000-square-foot lot is occupied by a single-story commercial building. Demolition permits have not been filed.
A Briarwood-based LLC has filed applications for a three-story, 11,277-square-foot daycare center at 80-15 188th Street, in Fresh Meadows. The daycare facility will accommodate children ages one through five, according to the project’s Schedule A. The structure will feature an outdoor playground in the backyard and a second playground on the roof. Gerald J. Caliendo’s Briarwood-based architecture firm is the architect of record. The 50-foot-wide, 5,088-square-foot property is occupied by a two-story house. Demolition permits were filed in September.
A Queens-based property owner has filed applications for a three-story, two-unit mixed-use building at 61-15 184th Street, in Fresh Meadows. The project will measure 8,000 square feet. Part of the ground and cellar levels will feature 1,202 square feet of retail space. In addition, a 1,502-square-foot children’s daycare center will also be located on the ground floor. Two full-floor residential units, averaging 1,000 square feet apiece, will occupy the two top floors. Flushing-based A&T Engineering is the applicant of record. The 4,000-square-foot site is occupied by a two-and-a-half-story house. Demolition permits were filed earlier this month.
