‘The White Lotus’ Renewed by HBO for Second Season With New Cast of Characters
HBO has ordered another season of Mike White’s “The White Lotus,” a vicious, buzzy satire set at an ornate Hawaiian resort. According to HBO, its second installment will leave Hawaii “and follows a different group of vacationers as they jet to another White Lotus property and settle in temporarily amongst its inhabitants.”

In interviews, White — who wrote and directed every episode of the first season — has said he’d want to do more of the show, anthology-style, set at a different resort somewhere else in the world. And though that means saying goodbye to the cast of Season 1, White

Fantasy Island Reboot EPs Explain the Premiere's Nod to Tattoo, Tease Future Reveals About 'Roarke Family History'
Fox welcomed viewers (back) to Fantasy Island on Tuesday for an hour of romance, intrigue and light cannibalism.

Though it’s touted as a reboot, this new version is actually a continuation of the original 1977 series, with Mr. Roarke’s descendant Elena (played by Roselyn Sanchez) now in charge of the mysterious island. Like her predecessor, Elena is responsible for bringing guests’ ultimate fantasies to life, helping them to grow in the process. Chrissy is facing the very real possibility of having to sell the Smallville Gazette, Kyle received an offer to head up a fire station in a town two hours away, and the locals are growing increasingly restless over the continued presence of the D.O.D. in their town.

‘Untold’ Review: Netflix Sports Doc Series Is as Much About Shaping the Future as Reexamining the Past

‘Untold’ Review: Netflix Sports Doc Series Is as Much About Shaping the Future as Reexamining the Past
Untold” is ostensibly about sports, but there’s a curious connector across the new Netflix documentary series. In each of the five episodes, as the best laid plans of teams and athletes begin to unravel, TV ends up a catalyzing factor. Partly, that’s the inevitable byproduct of fame: More notoriety leads to more eyeballs and all the swirling problems that increased attention can bring.

But the parade of nightly news reports and late-night talk show guest spots also illustrates what makes “Untold” such an enticing premise to be seen through a sports lens. As the title implies, the series examines specific chapters in a variety of sports, offering the people at the center the chance to share their feelings years (or in some cases decades) later.

Some of these have a true-crime tinge to them, as with installments covering a minor league hockey team caught up in a federal

‘Queer as Folk’ and ‘It’s a Sin’ Creator Blasts ‘Loki’ and Disney+ for ‘Pathetic’ Bisexual Reveal

‘Queer as Folk’ and ‘It’s a Sin’ Creator Blasts ‘Loki’ and Disney+ for ‘Pathetic’ Bisexual Reveal
Loki” delighted many fans across the world when it was confirmed in the series’ third episode that Tom Hiddleston’s eponymous antihero is bisexual. The confirmation comes quick: Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino) asks Loki about his love life and suspects he’s been with a “would-be princesses, or perhaps another prince.” Loki answers, “A bit of both. I suspect the same as you.” But that’s as far as “Loki” goes in exploring the character’s sexuality, which makes all the buzz around “Loki” being so inclusive rather “pathetic” for “It’s a Sin” and “Queer as Folk” creator Russell T. Davies.

“I think huge, clanging warning bells are ringing as the giants rise up with Netflix and Disney Plus especially,” Davies said during a recent video panel on the state of queer representation in television (via Uproxx). “I think that’s a very great worry. ‘Loki’ makes one reference to being bisexual once,

Riverdale EP Previews Season 5 Return, Jughead Hitting 'Rock Bottom,' Josie and the Pussycats' 'Triumphant' Encore
After nearly five months off the air, Riverdale is finally back on The CW this week… but the gang’s problems haven’t gone anywhere.

Season 5 of the teen drama continues this Wednesday (8/7c) with the first of nine new episodes, and last we saw Jughead… well, we didn’t see him, actually. He vanished from the bunker after taking mind-bending psychedelic drugs, and we worried he might’ve been (gulp) abducted by aliens. Now we know from the Season 5B trailer that Jughead is alive and well and safely on planet Earth, but as showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa tells TVLine,

‘Fargo’: How the Sound of ‘Barton Fink’ and Music of ‘Wizard of Oz’ Shaped the Special B&w Episode
The “Fargo” Season 4 episode “East/West” garnered a great deal of attention for how cinematographer Dana Gonzales’ black-and-white photography broke from the color kodachrome look that gave the rest of “Year Four” its distinct period feel. Yet it was the audio side of the crafts team that had to walk a fine line in telling the story of Rabbi Milligan (Ben Whishaw) and Satchel Cannon (Rodney L. Jones III) embarking on their fateful road trip.

IndieWire recently caught up with composer Jeff Russo and co-supervising sound editors, Nick Forshager and Tim Boggs — all of whom received Emmy nominations (along with Gonzales) for their work on “East/West” — to discuss how they found a balance in making this unique episode, which was inspired by the Coen Brothers “Barton Fink” as well as the oft-referenced 1939 classic “The Wizard of Oz.”

Jeff Russo and series creator Noah Hawley have been working together since the 2009 ABC series,

Hit & Run's Kaelen Ohm Breaks Down Danielle's Hard-to-Watch Death Scene
Ask anyone who has ever watched Lost, and they will tell you the “look both ways” cause of death is never easy to witness.

But when the title of a show is Hit & Run, the best thing you can do is brace yourself for visual impact. Adding to the wince factor is the fact that Danielle, the woman who dies after getting mowed down by a speeding BMW during the Netflix spy thriller’s premiere, gets hit over and over in the top-of-the-show recaps for most of the drama’s nine episodes.

‘WandaVision’: Kristen Anderson-Lopez on the Happy, Accidental Origins of ‘Agatha All Along’

‘WandaVision’: Kristen Anderson-Lopez on the Happy, Accidental Origins of ‘Agatha All Along’
Kristen Anderson-Lopez already has her Emmys dress ready to go. It’s actually what she’d hoped to wear to last year’s Golden Globes ceremony, which she didn’t attend due to her daughter battling a then-unknown respiratory illness she’d caught on a cruise ship. “She had Covid,” Anderson-Lopez told IndieWire. “We had Covid before we knew it was Covid.”

Thankfully, Anderson-Lopez and her family, including husband and songwriting partner Robert Lopez, made it through, but it only makes the two Emmy nominations the pair have secured for “WandaVision” all the more powerful. Fans and pundits the world over have discussed the role the Disney+ series played in helping them get through the uncertainty of 2020. For Anderson-Lopez, hearing the nomination alongside her daughters and their friends brought it full circle.

“[They] were so obsessed with ‘WandaVision’ every Friday in January and February. It was the thing that was allowing
