The Best New Movies To Stream On Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, HBO And Disney+ This Weekend

Travis Bean

Yes, the beginning of each new month is an exciting time for movie lovers—that’s when our favorite streaming services add a truckload of new films to their digital libraries. It’s a glorious moment when we have dozens of new movie options to choose from.

But guess what? Streaming platforms usually save their most anticipated movies for the rest of the month. And that fact is fully on display this weekend, when some really awesome movies will become available on Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, HBO Max and Disney+.

So which movies should you be most excited about? I’ll highlight the biggest new options available. Then at the end of the article, you can find a full list of every new movie that will be streamable this weekend.

In the Heights (HBO Max)

Ah, there’s nothing like a big-budget musical that was destined to be seen on the big screen. And you can see In the Heights at movie theaters this weekend—but you can also watch the movie on HBO Max. Don’t miss this colorful musical extravaganza from the creative minds of Jon M. Chu and Lin-Manuel Miranda.

In the Heights will be available to stream on HBO Max on June 11.

Pinocchio (Amazon Prime)

Attempts to recreate the story of Pinocchio haven’t been super successful in the past. But the latest update of the classic Disney movie might just be a winner. Directed by Academy Award winning director Guillermo del Toro, Pinocchio details a puppet’s journey to become a real boy.

Pinocchio will be available to stream on Amazon Prime on June 11.

Wish Dragon (Netflix)

As evidenced by movies like Bigfoot Family and The Mitchells vs. The Machines—a movie that just might end up being the most successful feature ever made by Netflix—we can expect the world’s biggest streaming platform to keep churning out animated ventures. And that continues this weekend with Wish Dragon.

Wish Dragon will be available to stream on Netflix on June 11.

Willy’s Wonderland (Hulu)

Every once in a blue moon, we’re blessed with a crazy Nicolas Cage movie—and this one looks like it checks all the boxes. A silent Cage is the star of Willy’s Wonderland, a movie in which a quiet loner must battle possessed animatronic mascots while trapped in an amusement park.

Willy’s Wonderland will be available to stream on Hulu on June 13.

The Happiest Millionaire (Disney+)

While every other streaming service is giving us new movies, Disney+ has decided to give us a classic. This 1967 musical stars Fred MacMurray as a joyful millionaire. Dancing, laughing, and singing ensue!

The Happiest Millionaire will be available to stream on Disney+ on June 11.
