B'Tselem's Internship Program

B’Tselem is proud to offer a few places each year to outstanding individuals that apply for an internship at B’Tselem. All interns are an integral part of B’Tselem’s team. They therefore have the opportunity to participate in the day-to-day running of a human rights organization and to learn about all aspects of our work: monitoring and documentation, research, public outreach and advocacy.

Depending on the conditions at the time, interns may have the opportunity to accompany field visits in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, as well as attend briefings and other events and trainings. Interns are relied upon for tasks that are important to the work of the organization and are expected to fulfil their responsibilities with the outmost care, even when charged with certain administrative or technical duties. The specific tasks given to interns vary depending on the specific projects underway and the skill-set of each particular intern. Interns must be aware that an internship will typically involve a good deal of monotonous work. We need interns to be prepared and willing to do it and enthusiastic to lend a helping hand. Depending on the intern’s skills and availability, we may be able to give more substantive projects as time goes by.

B’Tselem’s office functions mainly in Hebrew and Arabic, therefore interns with a command of these languages are able to participate in a wider range of office activities. For non-Hebrew/Arabic speakers, English fluency is a must.

B’Tselem usually has three interns at any given time, and applications are received on a rolling basis. Interns are matched to a department and a specific staff member who is responsible for their training and oversees their internship.

If you are interested in one of these positions, please complete the relevant forms and return them along with your resume to the specified contact above.

Please note that we do not have a budget for internships. Interns are responsible for securing independent funding to cover travel and living expenses, including health insurance. Regrettably, B’Tselem does not have the resources to aid with accommodation.

Due to the large volume of applications we receive, we appreciate your patience with what may appear to be a delayed response time. B’Tselem endeavors to match interns to positions based upon their skills, interests, and the organization’s needs. B’Tselem cannot guarantee a placement for all interested applicants.
