MP Joan Pereira welcomed the implementation of a theory test for riders of power-assisted bicycles on roads. She called for it to be kept affordable and for companies employing delivery riders to pay the cost on their workers’ behalf. In Parliament on Tuesday (May 11), Ms Pereira also asked if the authorities would mandate the wearing of correctly sized helmets for pillion riders, particularly children. She also voiced concerns over molesters or pickpockets posing as plainclothes security officers to frisk public transport commuters.
