A Bill was put up for debate in Parliament on Tuesday (May 11) to bring all electric vehicle-related efforts under the mandate of LTA. Specifically, it puts EV chargers under LTA’s watch, instead of the Energy Market Authority. It tasks LTA to ensure the safe use of EVs in Singapore, to develop and maintain publicly accessible EV charging points and supporting infrastructure, and - working with EMA - to set technical standards in line with public safety.
