TGEU seeks to build a trans community in which those groups of trans people who are particularly vulnerable or at risk of (multiple) discrimination are visible and represented, and TGEU works towards a general society in which those groups enjoy equal rights and respect.

TGEU is concerned  in particular with addressing the specific needs and perspectives of trans people in sex work, trans migrants and asylum seekers, intersex people (who may or may not identify as trans), trans children and youth, elderly trans people and trans people with disabilities.

To this aim, TGEU cooperates with organisations representing these groups or working on relevant issues, such as intersex, sex workers’ and migration and asylum organisations.

TGEU is currently also developing position papers on trans people in sex work and trans children and young people.
