Case Study

The kind of Swiss Army knife that is a Windows 10 machine just tends to offer better adaptability. What we find with our Windows 10 based devices is they can pivot quickly—with a capacity for applications, policies, and settings to be added more easily, as well as broader support for educational software.

We can help you select the right connectivity option, for your needs, including:
      • Rural broadband access: Microsoft is committed to connectivity and student inclusiveness. The Microsoft Airband Initiative partners with ISPs in rural communities across many US states. View the Airband project map.
      • Public WiFi hotspots: Microsoft and our Airband ISP partners are deploying hundreds of WiFi hotspots in public areas, allowing community members to safely access the internet while practicing social distancing. (Find locations in IN, IL, OH; WA. More added as available).
      • Eduroam connectivity: eduroam global Wi-Fi roaming service is free-of-charge to users. With eduroam installed on a laptop, mobile phone, or other device there’s no need to request special accounts or borrow other people’s IDs – just activate the device and get online.

Windows 10 is the most secure Windows to-date, protecting school data and student/educator personally identifiable information (PII). With Advanced Threat Protection (ATP) provided by one of the largest threat intelligence networks, cyber threats are constantly monitored. Data is not collected for ads, and is not shared without your permission. Windows supports international and regional standards such as FERPA, GDPR, and HIPPA.

Device-based conditional access means Intune and Azure Active Directory work together to make sure only managed and compliant devices can access email, Office 365 services, Software as a Service (SaaS) apps, and on-premises apps. Additionally, you can set a policy in Azure Active Directory to only enable only domain-joined computers or mobile devices that are enrolled in Intune to access Office 365 services.
