Are Health Centers Facilitating Equitable Access to COVID-19 Vaccinations?

This analysis examines the extent to which early vaccination efforts through community health centers are reaching people of color using data from the federal government’s weekly Health Center COVID-19 Survey. Additionally, this analysis may shed light on the Biden administration’s recent partnership with health centers to advance equitable access to COVID-19 vaccinations by directly supplying health centers with vaccines.

Expanding Postpartum Medicaid Coverage

This brief discusses Medicaid’s eligibility for pregnancy and postpartum care, gaps in coverage particularly in states that have not expanded Medicaid under the ACA, and several state and federal efforts to extend postpartum coverage to more women for a longer period of time.

Growth in Medicaid MCO Enrollment during the COVID-19 Pandemic

This data note looks at state Medicaid managed care enrollment data through December 2020 to assess the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and economic crisis on Medicaid enrollment. Data collected for 28 states show the rate of Medicaid managed care enrollment growth increased to 15.2% from March 2020 through December 2020. The rate accelerated from the 11.3% reported for 30 states from March 2020 through September 2020 and reversed trends from March 2019 to March 2020 when aggregate growth declined. These trends mirror national enrollment trends that show enrollment growth has been accelerating post-pandemic.
