Auckland to Waitomo, including Coromandel, Bay of Plenty and the central high country : Fine, but becoming partly cloudy with a few showers spreading west from afternoon and evening.
Gisborne and Hawke's Bay: Mostly cloudy. A few showers for Gisborne and northern Hawke's Bay.
Taranaki to Wellington and Wairarapa: Mostly fine, apart from cloud about coastal Wairarapa clearing this morning.
Nelson, Marlborough, Canterbury, Otago and Southland: Fine and warm.
Buller and Westland: Mostly fine, apart from cloud about Buller clearing this morning, and patchy drizzle south of the Glaciers late tonight.
Fiordland : Mostly cloudy with drizzle about the Fiords. Fine further inland.
Chatham Islands: Cloudy periods.
Monday:North Island: Scattered showers from Northland to Manawatu including Gisborne. Fine elsewhere. South Island: Rain spreading up the west coast, possibly heavy, and into Southland, Otago and south Canterbury later. Fine with high cloud elsewhere.
Tuesday:North Island: Mostly cloudy. A band of rain or showers spreading north through the day, but dry about Bay of Plenty and Gisborne. South Island: Rain in the west easing to a few showers in the morning. Showers elsewhere, easing in the afternoon or evening.
Wednesday:North Island: Isolated showers about Northland, and also about the Gisborne and Hawke's Bay ranges. Mainly fine elsewhere. South Island: Showers in Fiordland, Southland and Clutha, also about the Canterbury foothills. Fine elsewhere.
Chatham Islands:Fine spells and northerlies on Monday. Cloudy with strong northerlies on Tuesday, then rain developing later Tuesday. Showers on Wednesday with a change to strong southwesterlies.
