Where can I get the vaccine?
If you are among those currently recommended to get a COVID-19 vaccine, contact your health department, employer, long-term care facility, or designated vaccination provider for information on where you can get your COVID-19 vaccine. Call or check the website of your state or local health department to find out more about vaccine eligibility and distribution in your local area. You may also want to call or check the website of your local pharmacy.
CDC does not schedule vaccination appointments. If you need help scheduling your second dose, contact the location where you received your first dose or use the vaccine management or scheduling system you used to schedule your first dose. If these options are not available to assist you, contact your state or local health department for assistance.
Please keep in mind that health departments may be experiencing a high volume of inquiries, so it may take more time than usual for them to respond to requests. Check the website of your state or local health department for updates.
How do I report adverse events after receiving or administering the vaccine?
If you think you or someone in your care is experiencing a medical emergency, call 9-1-1 and go to the nearest hospital emergency room right away. If you think you or someone in your care is having an adverse event following vaccination but it is not an emergency, contact a healthcare provider for medical advice. Visit the CDC website for more info on vaccine safety.
Report adverse events to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS). To learn more, visit the VAERS website or call them directly at 1-800-822-7967.
Information for Vaccine Administration Management System (VAMS) participants in select states.
States and jurisdictions across the United States are using different web-based applications for vaccination clinic management. One of those systems is the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Vaccine Administration Management System, or VAMS. Contact your health department to find out which vaccination management system they are using for vaccine enrollment and scheduling.
