    The 2021 National Drowning report shows that swimming and recreating was the leading activity prior to drownings. Ability alone won’t prevent drowning. It’s important to follow water safety guidelines and learn lifesaving skills.

    In Australia 🇦🇺, 30–40% of fatal unintentional drownings are attributed to alcohol use. The ‘Don’t Let Your Mates Drink and Drown’ campaign led by encourages people to “look after your mates” while engaging in water-based activities.
