TGEU creates the legal, social and political change to improve the situations of trans people:

We work with national policy makers for better recognition and protection of trans people, such as on the first European Constitution (Malta) to include gender identity as a protected ground.
Our analysis, tools and campaigns, such as the legal gender recognition toolkit and Access All Areas campaign assisted activists and policy makers in Denmark, Croatia, Sweden, Belgium or the Netherlands in their advocacy for better legal gender recognition laws.
We unite and empower the European trans community with our trainings & workshops and unique European Transgender Councils.
We contributed significantly to the largest trans survey in Europe, the European LGBT Survey conducted by the Fundamental Rights Agency with 6,771 self-identified trans respondents.
We work closely with the Members of the European Parliament for more trans-inclusive laws, such as the milestone EU Victims’ Rights Directive to better protect trans people from all walks of live against violence and crime. The Directive is the first EU law to mention gender identity and expression.
As a result of our cooperation, the European Commission against Racism and Intolerance (ECRI) now can also monitor the human rights situation of trans people in European countries.
Our state-of-the-art research enables activists and policy makers to base their advocacy and policy making on facts and figures about the realities of trans people worldwide.
