Because plaintiffs have not shown standing and because the claims presented are not ripe for adjudication, the District Court’s judgment is vacated, and the case is remanded with instructions to dismiss for lack of jurisdiction.

Did You Know... First African American Admitted to the Supreme Court Bar

Dr. John Rock, a physician, was the first African American to be admitted to the Supreme Court Bar on February 1, 1865, on the motion of Senator Charles Sumner. Dr. Rock died on December 3, 1866, having never argued a case before the Court.
