Close cropped rear view of Tanker-modified Omega Boeing 707-321B N707AR (MSN 20029) on static display on Avalon's 'Heavy Metal' pad on 16Feb2003. Photo taken at the 2003 Avalon YMAV International Airshow. The aircraft was being used for AAR of RAAF Hornets, supplementing RAAF Boeing B707-338C(KC) Tanker assets. Unfortunately, this aircraft crashed at Pt Mugu California on 18May2011, bursting into flames after an engine failed on take-off. The Crew escaped, but the aircraft was a 'write-off'.

Low res Stbd side view of USAF McDonnell Douglas F-15C 78-0496 Cn 479/C029 Code ZZ taxying back after landing on Rwy 18 at Avalon YMAV on 16Feb2003. Photo taken at the 2003 Avalon International Airshow. The crowdline was packed when this aircraft performed a high energy handling display. (This aircraft reprised this display at Avalon in 2005, with a runway-scorching rotation on take-off.)

(Avalon International Airshow 2003.) The Fury wears Royal Navy pale green / grey livery, with ‘Invasion Stripes’ as applied during the Korean War (after a ‘friendly fire’ Sea Fury shoot-down.) This aircraft was previously operated in New Zealand in the 1990s as ZK-SFR.

The event was the 2003 Avalon International Airshow. This aircraft, borrowed from USN VFA-122 by Boeing, was being demonstrated with an impressive array of pylon- mounted external stores, by demo pilot Riccardo Traven. (Part of RAAF F-111C A8-147 is visible at rear.)

The occasion was the 2003 Avalon International Airshow. The ADF later acquired 47 MRH-90 helicopters, now operated by Australia - Army and Australia - Navy.
