2021 KU Alumni Directory

KU Alumni Directory

The KU Alumni Association recently launched a comprehensive alumni data verification project. We have partnered with PCI (also known as Publishing Concepts) to produce our new KU Alumni Directory.

The KU Alumni Directory project helps us in several ways. Accurate alumni and career data helps strengthen our vast Jayhawk network, which in turn strengthens KU. We also hear from KU alumni who are interested in owning a physical, printed directory of KU alumni. Our last directory project was in 2011-2012, so it is time to publish a new one.

We’ve assembled the information currently listed in our alumni records, and now we need your help to confirm the accuracy of your data and fill in any information gaps. Alumni may expect to receive postcards and emails from PCI sent on our behalf.

Up-to-date alumni information is essential for developing career placement guides to benefit our students and alumni and strengthen the University.

That’s why it’s so important to call.

Your assistance is greatly appreciated. Please call the KU Alumni Directory Hotline at 877-786-1318 to verify your data today.

Frequently Asked Questions

I received an email/postcard from a company asking for my personal information. They said they were working on a directory for the KU Alumni Association. Is this a legitimate project, or is it a scam?

We have partnered with PCI (also known as Publishing Concepts) to produce our new KU Alumni Directory. PCI is a company located in Dallas, TX, and Virginia Beach, VA, that publishes directories for educational institutions, alumni associations, fraternities, sororities and military organizations across the nation.

This project allows the KU Alumni Association to receive important updates to our database so we know more about our alumni and how we can better serve you and future alumni.

We can assure you that callers will never ask for your social security number or birthdate.

Can I expect a sales pitch? Will they try to sell me something?

Yes. Alumni who call the toll-free number should expect to be offered an opportunity to purchase a directory package. Purchase is not required. Proceeds benefit the KU Alumni Association.

Publishing Concepts is offering a variety of packages–six in total–ranging in price from close to $400 at the high end (includes a hardbound directory, digital publication, t-shirt and sweatshirt, weekender travel bag and a hat as a bonus featuring an embroidered KU Alumni Association logo) and $60 at the low end (includes digital-only access to a searchable publication of alumni who graduated five years before and five years after you). The complete hardbound publication by itself costs nearly $150. Membership is required to purchase directory products.

How do I know my information will only be used for directory purposes?

The KU Alumni Association has a contractual agreement with PCI that states:

The names, addresses and information provided to PCI by the KU Alumni Association for the publication of the Directory will be held confidential by PCI, except to the extent that they are utilized in, or in the preparation of, the Directory and except as required by court order or law. The KU Alumni Directory will be made available only to alumni of the University of Kansas. Upon completion of the project, PCI will return to the KU Alumni Association any and all electronic files that have been supplied to the KU Alumni Association or produced by PCI in connection with the production of the Directory.

I would like to verify and update my information. How may I do this?

If you have received a postcard or an email with a telephone number, you may call the number to speak with a dedicated representative for the KU Alumni Association project. The representative will verify all the information we have on file for you and make any updates where needed.

If you have received an email with an embedded link, you may go to the online site to review your information. If you have questions, you may call PCI at 877-786-1318.

Can’t I just update my information online?

Alumni can always update their information online at kualumni.org by logging in where it says “My Profile” in the upper right-hand corner of the website, or by selecting My Profile on the Resources menu. To purchase a directory product, however, alumni must call Publishing Concepts at the toll-free number provided.

Can anyone purchase a directory?

The KU Alumni Directory Publication is available for sale exclusively to KU Alumni Association members.

Can I choose some or all of my information not to be printed in the directory?

When you call to update your information, you can tell the representative what information you would prefer to have excluded. You may also communicate this information to PCI (1-800-982-1590).

I ordered a directory/package over the phone and would like to cancel my order. How do I do this?

Call PCI at 1-800-982-1590, and they will take care of this for you.

Can alumni outside the U.S. participate in the directory?

Yes! While we realize postcard delivery may not be as reliable for our alumni living abroad, we want to make sure you have the opportunity to participate.

We encourage KU alumni living abroad to contact PCI customer service by email customerservice@publishingconcepts.com to update your record.
