American Historical Association

Publisher Description

For more than a century the AHA has worked to strengthen the study and teaching of history; to address the common concerns of the historical community; to represent the profession in policy matters; to provide timely and systematic coverage of research developments; and to disseminate new scholarship and information for its application in a variety of ways. The AHA's diverse publishing program serves these efforts in the advancement of historical knowledge.

In addition to The American Historical Review, the AHA produces a wide variety of publications, including a number of annual directories, bibliographies and resource guides, and individual booklets that address professional concerns. The AHA also publishes a unique pamphlet series, in which each pamphlet--written and peer-reviewed by recognized and acclaimed experts in the field--provides a synthetic overview of a specific historical topic in fewer than one hundred pages.
