Thanks to the generosity of donors, especially philanthropist Peter J. Solomon ’60, MBA ’63, renovations on Houghton Library will begin fall 2019.

Houghton Library will modernize its research and teaching facilities, expand its exhibition galleries, improve physical access to its spaces and holdings, and create a more welcoming, inviting, and accessible environment.

Harvard’s knowledge is the world’s knowledge, and our staff carefully ensure Harvard materials continue to be accessible for teachers and scholars across the globe. Through your support we have digitized over a million materials for online access.

These efforts have not only preserved Harvard resources for future generations, but are also aligned with the increasing prevalence of digital scholarship work.
