Core Publishing Solutions works diligently to ensure that our processes have a positive impact on the environment. This aligns with the broader Thomson Reuters commitment to minimizing the adverse effects that company operations have on the environment while promoting sustainable operations and sustainability in general.
When you partner with us, you can have comfort knowing that Core Publishing Solutions strives for a healthy, green earth for generations to come. Our focus on eco-friendly printing, minimizing environmental impact, and being mindful of our carbon footprint means that you can rest assured that you are choosing a partner that values quality craftsmanship as much as environmental responsibility.
Certification Requirements
We require that all of our paper mills and merchants hold Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC), Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) and Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certifications. Requiring these forestry certifications provides assurance that Core Publishing Solutions purchases paper products from suppliers that support responsible forest management. In addition, we require that chain-of-custody procedures exist to pass certified fiber from the forest, through the manufacturing processes, and onto customers and end-users.
Recycling
We pride ourselves on recycling as much as possible at our book printing plant. In one example year, that focus led to us recycling:
- 5660 tons of paper from the manufacturing process
- 1600 tons of “book” destroy material/recycled content
- 281 tons of aluminum
- 255 tons of wood
- 244 tons of steel
- 251 tons of cardboard
- 12 tons of plastic
