Know Before You Go

Reserve your tickets online (members must log in to verify their status and receive free admission) or call 215.898.4001 during museum open hours.
Due to construction, the sidewalk in front of the Penn Museum on South Street (between 33rd Street and Convention Avenue) is closed. For visitors arriving from the SEPTA regional rail train station: please cross South Street to the Franklin Field side in order to safely use the sidewalk. Then, cross at the intersection (33rd Street) to access the Museum's Main Entrance. For visitors parking in the garage/Lot 7: please use the East Entrance.

Face masks must be properly worn at all times while you are in the Museum.

Hand washing icon Please follow a one-way route through the galleries, to maximize social distancing—just follow the arrows on the floor.

We have also installed plexiglass barriers in areas where transactions occur.
Caution symbol with a group of people icon We are limiting the number of visitors in the building to facilitate social distancing, in accordance with city and state protocols. Capacity limits for each gallery and public space, based on square footage, are posted throughout the Museum.
Food and drink icon The Museum Café is temporarily closed. Because water fountains are unavailable for hygiene reasons, visitors are welcome to bring their own bottled water, but no other outside food or drink is permitted inside the Museum. Weather permitting, picnics are welcome in the Warden Garden, Stoner Courtyard, and Mosaic Courtyard. Coat room and lockers are not available.

Planning Your Visit

A two-hour admission window is allotted per timed ticket.
Guests may enter the Museum at any time during that window and explore the galleries at their own pace.

Please limit groups to 6 people.

Main Entrance

The Main Entrance (Kamin) is located across the street from Franklin Field on South Street, closest to 33rd Street.

This entrance is wheelchair accessible.

East Entrance

The East Entrance (Kress) is for buses, groups, and the general public. The East entrance is approached from Convention Avenue, not South St.

This entrance is wheelchair accessible.

The Courtyard Entrance is on South Street and is only open for special events.
