Aswini Betha, PhD, CLP

Aswini Betha joined KUCTC in April 2008 as a Licensing Associate focused on pharmaceutical and other life science technologies. His responsibilities include identifying potential licensees for commercializing the inventions, performing license negotiations, drafting license, revenue distribution, option, and inter-institutional agreements, performing due diligence required for Startup company formation, educating faculty members on intellectual property protection and commercialization, and evaluating new inventions from the perspective of patentability and commercialization.

Aswini earned his Ph.D. in Cell & Molecular Biology from the University of Houston, holds a Master of Science degree in Human Genetics from Andhra University, India, and a Certificate of Business Administration from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). He is a Certified Licensing Professional. Prior to joining the KUCTC team, he worked as a Technology Commercialization Analyst in the Office of Technology Management at the UIUC and as a Research Scholar in the Biochemistry department at UIUC.
