As soon as Pfizer broke the news, investors jumped. Science can advance solutions, but even if successful it'll take many months to achieve the widespread vaccination rates needed. Millions of working people are already unable to cover the bills - we can't wait months 1/5

MASK UP! As our country continues to set records for single-day COVID cases, Flight Attendants serve as essential workers. Thank you, aviation's first responders, for continuing to provide essential service to our nation throughout this pandemic.❤️✈️

  6. Wall Street knows this. They're not just betting on a vaccine, they're betting that workers' pain will boost future profits. Washington must make a bet on American workers and invest in our families and our communities. Americans need RN 5/5

  7. And across the economy, as soon as these corporations come out of crisis mode, they'll start looking to balance the red on their ledgers. The country’s job & wage crisis will deepen with labor cost cuts. And it'll hit consumers too, with fewer options 4/5

  8. If Congress doesn’t , get workers back to our jobs & force airline management to put , people in other industries will hurt as our bills go unpaid. We support 1 in 14 jobs. Waiting to rehire, train, certify airline workers hurts today & more tomorrow 3/5

  9. The stock market is a bet on the future. These investors think the airlines will bounce back. But if we don't invest to keep working people afloat TODAY, our economic recovery will take longer and be more painful for Americans unless Congress acts to put now 2/5

I humbly submit these 1,600 words on the Four Seasons Total Landscaping event to the historical record. This is my eyewitness account of a day that will forever live in infamy.

  14. Haven’t stopped for a second thinking about the people I represent who are out of work & without healthcare in a pandemic after serving as essential workers & creating the only relief that holds corporations accountable, but Washington failed to extend!

  15. Yes. - Important to get back to locking in the package built by aviation workers and our unions. This is the kind of template that should be duplicated for immediate relief across sectors now & the mindset we need for building back better

🚨THREAD: In the coming weeks, the Fed and Treasury could choose to deny the Biden Administration more than $1 trillion of potential aid to small businesses and local governments. We need to push them to do what's best for American workers and not cut off this aid. 1/

"We not only have to thank MI, we need to mostly thank DETROIT. We shouldn't just thank GA, we should thank ATLANTA. We shouldn't just thank PA, but we need to thank PHILLY. Those are majority Black cities so it's Black people who put us in this position of a celebratory mood."

After a hard-fought campaign for Biden, wants to see him become the most progressive president ever. What job will Sanders take on in this administration? And how much of his agenda can he achieve without a Dem Senate? joins me 9aET.
