Thanks to the strength and support of the dynamic city of Dallas and the surrounding region, SMU has become a leading global teaching and research university. SMU and its alumni generate an annual economic impact that is larger than $7 billion. In 2012 and 2017, the University reported to the community about the return on its investment in SMU – and the University’s growing impact on Dallas and the world.

In recent years, SMU has returned increasing dividends on the investments made by the farsighted leaders who founded the University and by more than 65,000 donors to the University’s recent $1.15 billion campaign, the largest in the history of Texas private universities.
