HARRISBURG — COVID-19 cases across Pennsylvania continue to rise as the Department of Health reported a total of 2,641, which included 225 cases from previous days and reported toady, additional positive cases on Friday, bringing the statewide total to 205,517.
NEW BETHLEHEM — The origins of the annual New Bethlehem-area pumpkin chunkin’ contest are lost in the mists of time. But even in a year when so many small regional events have been canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic, organizers found a way to bring off the quirky competition.
FALLS CREEK — The Falls Creek Borough Municipal Authority will be flushing hydrants in Smithtown and in the Borough of Falls Creek starting Tuesday, Oct. 27 through Wednesday, Oct. 28.
HARRISBURG — According to the Department of Health, as of 12 a.m. Friday there were 2,219 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 190,579. Daily increases are now comparable with what the state saw in April, with Thursday’s case count the largest one-day total.

DuBOIS — Sandy Township Police have filed an additional felony charge of drug delivery resulting in death against a 37-year-old DuBois man in connection with the overdose death of his 27-year old girlfriend, according to a criminal complaint filed at the office of the DuBois Magistrate.
ST. MARYS — A DuBois man has been charged with a felony after he was allegedly hired to complete several contracting jobs for a St. Marys couple, which were never completed.
GRAMPIAN — A Grampian couple who have been charged in the death of their 39-day-old infant daughter that occurred July 1 waived their rights to a preliminary hearing before Magisterial Distrift James Glass this week at Centralized Court held at the Clearfield County Jail.
REYNOLDSVILLE — A Punxsutawney man is facing felony charges for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor.
RIDGWAY — A Ridgway man has been charged after he allegedly struck a man and woman in the face several times.
