    Due to high visitation today, expect 1 to 2 hour parking delays at Paradise; parking lots are nearing capacity at this time. Alternative plans for locations other than Paradise are advised. All vehicles must be below the Longmire Gate by 5pm when the road closes.-trs

    Plows operating in Mount Rainier National Park typically operate 700 hours each winter. This engine lasted for 8,000 hours, or about 11 years. The mechanic is removing any potential salvageable parts from the old engine. 2/2 -kl

    Many factors determine if the Longmire-Paradise road will open, such as avalanche danger & available staff/equipment. One of the park's primary plows recently broke down, but mechanics are finalizing repairs to return this plow to the roads w/ a new engine (in yellow). 1/2 -kl
