I write this on election morning. Perhaps the presidential results are clear and the winner has been projected or announced. Perhaps, it wasn’t so clear and we don’t yet know who won.

Ludington Area Schools on Tuesday updated its COVID-19 case list to add an additional student, who attends Franklin Elementary School.

Nick Krieger, a Democrat, defeated Susan Boes, a Republican, for the 1st District Mason County Board of Commissioners seat, which includes the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Wards in the City of Ludington, 1,193 votes to 1,179.

Community Cats TNR, a local, non-profit group of volunteers, in partnership with Country Veterinary Clinic, P.C. and Animal Hospital of Ludington, has trapped, neutered and returned 1,100 Community Cats as of Oct. 14.

I write this on election morning. Perhaps the presidential results are clear and the winner has been projected or announced. Perhaps, it wasn’t so clear and we don’t yet know who won.

As Tuesday’s election approached, it was heralded as one of the most important and highly contested of the modern era. With that pressure in addition to the many concerns caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, people wondered if voting was as secure as in the past.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, those of us who didn’t already vote will head to our polls to complete a time-honored civic duty to decide who our leaders will be.
