A longtime resident of Scarsdale, died on December 18, 2001 at Sound Shore Medical Center. He was 82. Mr. DeCarlo was born on December 12, 1919 in New Rochelle to the late Vito and Beatrice DeCarlo. Mr. DeCarlo was an artist who created characters foir several comic book companies and television animation series during his career that spanned more than 50 years. He graduated from the Art Student League of NYC, and was a member of the The National Cartoonist Association of America and a communicant of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Scarsdale. Mr. DeCarlo served in the Air Force during World War II. He is survived by his wife, the former Jossette Dumont, whom he married in Belgium on February 2, 1946; two granddaughters Christie and her husband Michael Merone and Jessica DeCarlo; three sisters, Kay and her husband Steve Kandall, Margaret and Millie DeCarlo, all of New Rochelle. He was predeceased by two sons, Daniel and James. Visiting hours will be Thursday, 7-9 and Friday 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel. A Funeral Mass is scheduled for Saturday 9:45 am at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
