Dr Zhiwei Hu is Reginald Platt Lecturer in Civil Aviation within Engineering and Physical Sciences at the University of Southampton.
Dr Zhiwei Hu obtained his BEng and MSc in Fluid Engineering and Turbomachinery, and later PhD in Applied Mathematics and Fluid Mechanics, at Xi'an Jiaotong University, Xi'an, China. Dr Hu then worked in the Chemical Engineering College, Xi'an Jiaotong University as Lecturer and Associate Professor before moving to the UK. After a short visit to Queen Mary's College, University of London, Dr Hu joined the University of Southampton as a Research Fellow, and later Lecturer. His research focuses on numerical study of fluid flow for various aerodynamic and aeroacoustic applications.
