‘Titans’ Adds Red Hood, Scarecrow and Barbara Gordon for Gotham City-Set Season 3

‘Titans’ Adds Red Hood, Scarecrow and Barbara Gordon for Gotham City-Set Season 3
Titans” continues to dump out its DC Comics toy chest, adding Red Hood, Dr. Jonathan Crane, and Barbara Gordon for its upcoming third season, which will be set primarily in Gotham City.

The casting announcements were revealed Saturday as part of DC Fandome.

Curran Walters, who plays Jason Todd (aka the second Robin after Dick Grayson) will don the new Red Hood identity on the coming season. In the comics Todd was killed by the Joker during the infamous “A Death in the Family” arc, only to be brought back from the dead by Batman arch nemesis Ra’s al Ghul. Warped and embittered by the experience, he takes the name and general aesthetic from one of Batman’s earliest villains, Red Hood — who as it happens was the original criminal identity used by the man who would later call himself Joker — and becomes a ruthless, often deadly vigilante.

‘The Great’ Season 2 Starts Filming This Fall, Reveals Showrunner
When Hulu announced The Great Season 2 had been ordered, it came as a welcome surprise. The period drama/comedy series was initially billed as a limited series, but throughout production it quickly became clear they had something special that was worth revisiting. Indeed, Elle Fanning and Nicholas Hoult deliver astoundingly good performances as Catherine the Great and her impulsive and power-mad husband Peter, respectively, as the first season chronicles their marriage and Catherine’s decision to stage a coup. The show is a tonal balancing act, weaving from drama to comedy to romance sometimes all within the same …

‘The Batman’ Spinoff Series ‘Gotham P.D.’ Will Be a Prequel About Corrupt Cops
During The Batman director Matt Reeves’ appearance during the DC FanDome event, and with a keen eye on corporate synergy, he discussed the upcoming Gotham P.D. live-action series that will debut on HBO Max (timing for that one is Tbd but we can safely bet it will be alongside The Batman’s theatrical launch next fall). Up until now the only thing we knew about the show was that it would be overseen by Reeves and Terrence Winter, who created Boardwalk Empire for HBO and wrote the script for Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf of Wall Street. ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ Star Melissa Fumero Blasts Canadian Remake’s Whitewashed Casting

‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ Star Melissa Fumero Blasts Canadian Remake’s Whitewashed Casting
A French-Canadian remake of the hit cop comedy “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” titled “Escouade 99” and transplanted to Quebec, has left people baffled. And that includes one of the original stars of the ongoing police procedural sitcom, once at Fox and now living at NBC. Melissa Fumero, who plays rule-abiding sergeant Amy Santiago, took to Twitter to blast the remake’s apparently whitewashed casting, with a non-Latina actress playing the Cuban-American star’s role. Another role, Fumero noted, also went to a non-Latina actress originally played by Stephanie Beatriz. In the new version, which just released a trailer, the characters are now dubbed as Fanny, portrayed by actress Mylène Mackay, and Rosalie, played by Bianca Gervais.

“This is like peeking through another dimension,” Fumero tweeted this week. “Gotta say though after watching this…I’m suddenly curious about the Latina population in Quebec. Just sayin’.”

Fumero continued to tweet her reactions to the new show.

The Batman's HBO Max Spinoff Will Be Year One Prequel About Vigilante's Emergence Through Pov of Bad Cop
HBO Max’s companion series to The Batman will in fact be a “Year One” prequel to the highly anticipated costumed crimefighter drama from director Matt Reeves.

When announced in July, the smaller-screen offshoot was said to “build upon the motion picture’s examination of the anatomy of corruption in Gotham City, ultimately launching a new Batman universe across multiple platforms. The series provides an unprecedented opportunity to extend the world established in the movie and further explore the myriad of compelling and complex characters of Gotham.” Boardwalk Empire creator Terence Winter will pen the script.

‘Selling Sunset’ Star Davina Potratz Doesn’t Think She’s The Villain
Davina Potratz wants “Selling Sunset” viewers to know that she’s happy.

The German real estate agent has been deemed by fans the villain of Netflix’s docusoap, but she doesn’t blame the producers. “If you don’t show me smiling or being warm and fuzzy, then it looks like all I am is the 10% where I had a bad moment,” she says in a recent Zoom interview with Variety.

Potratz knows the show needs drama, but she won’t let that define her. Instead of getting bogged down in the onslaught of online hate, Potratz simply blocks, deletes,

Fringe's Jasika Nicole: Running Joke About Astrid's Name Was 'Tasteless' — John Noble Apologizes for Role In It
Seven-and-a-half years after Fringe‘s end, Jasika Nicole has shared that as “a black woman with a name that white people seem to find incredibly difficult to pronounce,” she found the running joke about Astrid’s name to be “pretty tasteless.”

As fans of the acclaimed Fox sci-fi series know, John Noble’s Dr. Walter Bishop had great trouble getting right the name of FBI agent/lab assistant Astrid Farnsworth, addressing her as “Astro,” “Asterisk” “Asgard” and the like. But while Walter’s slip-ups were accounted for by the storyline and obviously had no malice behind them, Nicole says the
