Normally, the prospect of two hurricanes entering the Gulf of Mexico simultaneously would be the biggest news in Mobile. But the teasing prospect of a Foosackly’s chicken biscuit is making the rounds.
It is for real? Will Fusaiotti, co-founder and CEO of the Lower Alabama chain that has begun expanding northward with a new store in Auburn and a planned one in Tuscaloosa, wasn’t saying on Friday. However, it was clear Fusaiotti was enjoying the excitement generated by the image circulating on social media, whether it originated with the company or not. (For what it’s worth, the image had not been posted by the company on any of its official sites.)
What Fusaiotti did say is that fans can expect to hear something definitive early next week. And that he and other company leaders have kicked around the possibility of breakfast service for years. And that there have been long discussions and painstakingly researched portfolios to support various notions. And that at one point they even mocked up something called a “chicken cordon Foo,” pairing chicken fingers with sliced ham.
Until the company says more, all we have is that that mysterious, possibly apocryphal image floating around Facebook, with the tantalizingly firm date: Sept. 18.
