WEST CHESTER TOWNSHIP, Ohio (FOX19) - Lakota Local Schools and law enforcement officials are investigating the vandalism of a parking spot at Lakota West High School known as the “Thin Blue Line.”

School district officials including Superintendent Matthew Miller wrote on social media early Sunday about the incident.

“Early today we were made aware that one of our senior student parking spaces at Lakota West High School was vandalized. This particular parking spot was designed to be a tribute to law enforcement using the image commonly referred to as the “Thin Blue Line,” the post states.

The West Chester Police Department is assisting the school district and school resource officer with the investigation.

“This act shows the need for us to come back together as a school community so we can engage on the topic of racism, police brutality and social justice in a responsible way,” the post also states.

“This is a public health issue and our students need an environment where we can be candid, listen and clearly establish values that avoid being influenced by political propaganda and special interests.”
