Jack V. Abrahamson

Abrahamson, Jack V. Our dearly loved Jack, Age 85 of Edina, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2020. Jack was the retired President and CEO of Metro Elec tric Construction Co. Past Training Director of of NECA/IBEW Training Center. Officer and Member of both NECA and 62 year member of IBEW Local 292. Graduated from Mpls. Roosevelt H.S. Class of 1953. Graduated from Dunwoody Inst. in 1960. Attended the U of M and was a licensed Vo- Tech Instructor; Master Electrician and Contractor. Proudly served in the USMC. Life member of the Korean War Assoc., USMC Assoc., and life member of VFW Post 5555 and Am. Legion Post 435. Long time member of Woodlake Luthern Church, NRA, Ducks Unlimited and the American Swedish Inst. Jack had a true passion for the outdoor life of fishing, hunting, and spending time in the mountains of the West. Above all he loved his family beyond words. Preceded in death by his parents Reynold and Frances Abrahamson (Swedish Immigrants), by sisters Joyce (Kroona), Jean (McCoul)-USMC Veteran, nephew Shannon- USMC Veteran, niece Shari. Survived by beloved wife Eileen (Hultgren) - married 64 years; son Charles (Charlotte) Abrahamson; daughter Karen Abrahamson (Steve Manhood); grandchildren Matt, Jack, Anna Abrahamson; many nephews, nieces and many Swedish relatives and loyal friends. Deborah Susan (Harris) Albertson

Albertson, Deborah Susan (Harris) age 65, passed away on August 11, 2020 at home in Eden Prairie, MN, after a long battle with cancer. The daughter of father Robert "Bob" Harris and mother Wilma (Pratt) Harris, was born on January 8, 1955 in Fort Worth, TX and in 1969 the family moved to Coralville, IA. She graduated from Iowa City West High School in 1973. She attended the University of Iowa, where she received her degree in Microbiology in 1977. On April 29, 1978, she married Steve Albertson in Iowa City. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, flowers, spending time with her grandsons and travelling. She loved the time she spent in Kauai with her husband and their friends. Debbie is survived by her husband of 42 years, Steve Albertson of Eden Prairie, MN, daughters Amber Albertson of Minneapolis, MN, Erica Albertson of London, England, and Kelsey (Evan) Scrodin of Pine Island, MN, grandsons Jackson and Jace Scrodin, mother, Wilma (Pratt) Harris of Manchester, IA, sister Denise (Steve) Engelken of Oneida, IA, and many nieces, nephews and extended family. A gathering of family and friends will be held at Huber Funeral Home in Eden Prairie on Saturday, August 22, from 11-1. Burial at Eden Prairie Cemetery will immediately follow. Ward Gregory Anderson

Anderson, Ward Gregory Age 80, of Eden Prairie, former resident of Tonka Bay, MN and Ashville, NC passed away August 7, 2020 at home surrounded by his family. Preceded in death by son, Mark Anderson, April 2014. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 58 years, Linda Anderson, daughters, Pamela (John) Shaughnessy, Susan (Scott) Anderson, son David (Nichole) Anderson, grandchildren Eric, Casey, Grace, Jack, Luke and Ella, and many other family and friends. Born in Minneapolis Feb 5, 1940; He graduated from West High School, received his Bachelor's degree at the University of Minnesota and earned his MBA from St. Thomas University. He and Linda married in 1962 & moved to Lake Minnetonka in 1971 to raise their children. He enjoyed life on the lake with family, playing many years of golf at Minnetonka CC as well as running multiple marathons. After retiring from his job as VP of Finance at Marigold Foods, they moved to Flat Rock, North Carolina. Ward and Linda lived on the golf course at Kenmure where they made life-long friends, then returned to Minnesota in 2014 to be near family. They created ever-lasting memories on multiple family vacations. Ward was a pillar of strength and will be forever remembered and loved. Gayle Harriet Andrs

Andrs, Gayle Harriet went to be with the Lord and her husband Bill, August 10th. Gayle was a grade school teacher in Hopkins for 45 years and a Christian Education director and teacher at Minnetonka Community Church and Grace Church in Alexandria, MN. Gayle was lovingly cared for by Esther and Harry Johnson starting when she was three weeks old. Survived by sisters-in-law, Gloria Andrs and Joye Andrs and many nieces and nephews and their children. Service is at Cross of Glory Church, 4600 Shady Oak Road, Hopkins, MN, August 17, 1:30 pm, with visitation at 12:45 pm. Memorials preferred to Samaritan's purse or Cross of Glory Church. Gerald 'Jerry' Ascher

Ascher, Gerald "Jerry" Age 84, of Richfield. Survived by children Kathleen "Katy" (Doug) Eiden, Mary (Scott) Carollo, Thomas (Maria) Ascher, Anne (K.C.) Monahan, Beth (Chris McGill) Ascher; 18 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sister Margaret Roback, brother Terrance "Terry" Ascher. Preceded in death by wife Mary "Joan" Ascher (nee Ford); infant daughter Aimee; parents Herman and Florence Ascher; brother James Ascher. Jerry was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He attended Ascension Catholic grade school and was a graduate of DeLaSalle High School where he occasionally enjoyed missing class to caddy for the priests. After earning a bachelor's degree from the University of Minnesota, Jerry served his country as a member of the National Guard Reserves. Jerry and Joan met while students at the U playing bridge at the Newman Center. Jerry and Joan were married August 9, 1958, and together they raised five children and, among other things, continued to combine forces at the bridge table. Throughout his long career in state government, Jerry worked in various capacities for the Minnesota departments of Aeronautics, Economic Development and Juvenile Justice. He and Joan were long-time parishioners of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Richfield, and Jerry volunteered in many roles including Lector, EME, and coaching in KCYO. Jerry was an avid fisherman and voracious reader who enjoyed spending time at cabins and lakes in Northern MN with his family. He also loved rooting for and watching his kids' and grandchildren's sports in addition to his Golden Gophers, Vikings and Twins. Funeral and burial services will be immediate family only. Benjamin Wahman Behme

Behme, Benjamin Wahman Age 18 of Eagan, died Aug. 12. Ben was loving, humble, considerate, hardworking, insightful and intelligent. He was a kind soul with a unique sense of humor. Ben loved his family, pets, bicycling, nature and the environment. He graduated this year from the School of Environmental Studies at the Minnesota Zoo and considered it a privilege to go there. He attended Burnsville High School, Metcalf Middle School and Rahn Elementary School. Ben is survived by his loving mother and brother, Beth and Zachary; grandparents, Jack and Jill Wahman and Jerry and Bonnie Behme; aunts and uncles, Ginny and Mark Betzer, Todd and Joan Behme, Chris Behme, Jenni and Seth Henriksen; cousins, Maya, Greta, and Jack Betzer; Katie, Anna, Theresa, Julie and Charlie Behme; Brooks, Gavin, and Sloane Henriksen. Jean Marie (Hoey) Bemlott

Bemlott, Jean Marie (Hoey) was born January 21, 1932 passed away August 13, 2020. Preceded in death by her husband Henry in 1997. Jean was a beloved wife, mother, sister and grandmother. She grew up in south Minneapolis the second of five children, and was the last of the Hoey siblings. Mom spent her last few weeks watching family movies made by the movie camera her father bought after winning a football pool in 1939. She died peacefully surrounded by family at home in Bloomington. She was proud of her Irish heritage, an avid reader and noted family historian. Jean crocheted baby blankets for her grandchildren, was a noted seamstress and longtime volunteer for VEAP. She will be remembered for her humor and wit which she retained to the end. Jean is survived by her children Julie Schnell (Robert) of Bloomington, Steven Bemlott (Michelle) of Minneapolis, Nancy Creel (James) of Huntersville, NC and Barbara Cowan (Eric) of Excelsior, 3 loved sisters-in-law Gena Hoey, Shirley Hoey and Diane Hoey, 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, and grand dogs. A celebration of Jean's life will take place in August 2021. Jerome W. 'Jerry' Benson

Benson, Jerome "Jerry" W. Died August 4, 2020 in Mpls, MN. Survived by wife, Carol (Magnuson) Benson; niece, Dee Quiel and her longtime boyfriend, Bob Carlson; also by birth family cousins, Rachel (Gary) Knebel, Lois (Jeff) Tollefson and Laura (Mickey) Haaseth.
