An Anoka native, Adler lives in south Minneapolis with her two dogs. She graduated from the College of St. Benedict with an English and secondary education degree (and a concentration in studio art). She taught seventh grade English and religion at a Catholic school in Edina for two years and later taught adult ESL/ELL for Minneapolis Public Schools. She has a Master's degree in English/Literacy education from the University of Minnesota. In her free time, she enjoys reading, drawing and attempting to complete home improvement projects.

Anderson was born in North Dakota, but grew up in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. He has an undergraduate degree in English from the University of Minnesota, Morris and a master's in journalism from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, where his focus was communications law. He and his wife, Jan, along with their Labrador retrievers, live on a small farm in the St. Croix River Valley. As time allows, Anderson competes on cutting horses.

Jim is from Sunrise, Minn., but has lived most of his life in St. Paul. He's been a reporter, columnist and copy editor at several dailies, including the St. Paul Dispatch and Pioneer Press, Red Wing Republican Eagle, Mankato Free Press, Eau Claire (Wis.) Bertels is a native Kansan and now a determined Minnesotan, living in Oak Grove, where he raised three sons with his wife. He graduated from the University of Kansas with a journalism degree. Kevin dabbles in fishing, canoe camping, golfing and gambling, and he was way too involved in youth sports until his youngest son went to college.
