Trussville police on Wednesday obtained formal warrants against 19-year-old Jaerik McGraw. The Birmingham man is charged with attempted murder of his 17-year-old co-worker.
The altercation happened just before 4 p.m. at Firehouse Subs. Trussville Det. Ben Short said the victim, a juvenile, was taken to the hospital and is listed in stable condition.
It was about 7:45 p.m. Sunday when police say two suspects kicked their way into a home in the 3800 block of Creekside Way. The homeowner told investigations multiple men forced entry into the home through basement and front door and then used zip ties to detain everyone in the home.
Trussville police on Thursday obtained a capital murder for Steven Chase Lafoy, 17. He is charged in the Wednesday slaying of 18-year-old Trent Thomas Parkerson.
The shooting happened about 3:30 a.m. outside a home in the 7600 block of Happy Hollow Road. Trussville police Det. Ben Short said the two teens both were students at Hewitt-Trussville High School.
Police charges Robert Estis Jr. with possession of a destructive device, possession of a short-barreled rifle, possession of an altered firearm, two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He will be transferred to the Jefferson County Jail with bonds totaling $321,000.
Amber Jones, a 24-year-old Birmingham woman was employed part time at Regions Bank in Clay, now faces three felony charges with the potential for many more, police said. Among the victims are a 17-year-old boy and a 95-year-old woman.
Trussville police on Monday announced warrants against 25-year-old Olaja Burnett. He is charged with third-degree burglary, first-degree theft of property, possession of burglary tools, attempting to elude, criminal tampering and reckless endangerment.
Trussville police responded about 3:30 a.m. to an alarm call at Zales in the 5000 block of Pinnacle Square. When officers arrived on the scene, they saw broken glass and a van leaving the area.
Ryan Mitchell, of Randolph County, was arrested for public intoxication and attempting to elude a law enforcement officer.
Prater, arrested last year on a felony domestic violence/stalking charge, has pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of harassing communications.
Trussville police announced the arrest of 31-year-old Ian Kennedy. He is from Indiana but was in Trussville visiting relatives, said Det. Ben Short.
