Abstract: Dr. Edmund Abbott, 1857-1933, a third-generation physician, was born in Winterport, ME. He graduated from Maine State College in Orono and the Medical Department of the University of New York. He continued his father's private practice in Winterport from 1879 to 1887. He then relocated to Providence, RI, where he practiced until his retirement in 1920.
