God’s work never stops. Churchwide office staff are still hard at work – from our homes. Hours and lines of communication remain the same.

Mission Advancement

We are a church that shares a living, daring confidence in God’s grace, and we are bold in sharing the many stories of how God’s grace and work in the world are changing lives and communities. We are equally bold in seeking the support and participation of people -- young and old alike -- in drawing together our resources to enable ministries and efforts that serve and love our neighbor in Jesus Christ’s name throughout the world.

Mission Advancement shares the ELCA's message of God's love with a broad and diverse audience across all media, and directs efforts for support of the ELCA’s work through major gifts, appeals and planned giving. Its work communicates consistently the distinctive identity and mission of the ELCA, empowers people to share the story of God’s redeeming love in the world, and encourages members to engage in and financially support the work of this church both in and beyond their congregations.

The teams and functions of Mission Advancement are:
  • The Campaign for the ELCA
Leads the ELCA in its first-ever comprehensive campaign, Always Being Made New: The Campaign for the ELCA. The campaign will invest in the future of this church, deepen relationships and expand ministry opportunities that serve our neighbors and communities in the United States and around the world.
  • Constituent Support
Responds to inquiries for information, resources and assistance.
  • ELCA Foundation
Sustains, grows and strengthens ministries of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, congregations, agencies and institutions through personal gift planning, financial education and investment management services.
  • Living Lutheran
