The following resources can help providers and others find services in their community.

Finding Health Insurance

Health Insurance Options - Learn about health insurance options for individuals, families, and small businesses and click on "Get Coverage." Special enrollment options may be available to qualified individuals.

Health Coverage through Medicaid and the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) - Learn about health insurance programs for children and teens in your state. You can also call 1-877-Kids-Now (1-877-543-7669). You can sign up for Medicaid or CHIP at any time.

Finding Healthcare

Free or Low-cost Medical Care - Use the Find-a-Health-Center Tool to locate a community health center by ZIP Code.

HIV, Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs), and Hepatitis Testing - Locate a clinic near you that offers low cost testing and prevention counseling for HIV and other STDs and vaccines. You can also call 1-800-CDC-INFO.

HIV Services and Testing Sites - Identify local HIV testing services, housing assistance, health centers, Ryan White HIV care, mental health services, substance abuse services, and family planning services.

Family Planning Services - Enter your ZIP Code in the "Find a Family Planning Clinic" box to locate family planning clinics near you. These clinics are funded by the HHS Office of Population Affairs.

Seasonal Flu Vaccination Providers - Seasonal flu vaccinations are recommended for everyone six months of age and older. Enter your ZIP Code for locations near you.

Poison Help - When accidents happen with chemicals, medicine, or household items, call the National Capital Poison Center at 1-800-222-1222 to get help right away from a local poison expert. If someone is unconscious or has trouble breathing, call 911. Text "POISON" to 797979 to save the contact info for poison control in your phone.

Indian Health Service Facility Locator - To locate an Indian Health Service, Tribal, or Urban Indian Health Program facility (including hospitals, health centers, dental clinics, and behavioral health facilities), enter your location or zoom in on the map.

Find a Family Planning Clinic – Search by ZIP Code to find local clinics that offer a broad range of family planning and preventive health services.

Find a Pediatrician or Pediatric Specialist – Use this tool to find pediatricians, pediatric sub-specialists, and pediatric surgical specialists who are members of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

HealthFinder.gov – Locate healthcare providers and organizations offering a wide range of services and support near you.

Finding Mental Healthcare Services

Mental Health Services - Find behavioral health facilities in the US and its territories. Search by ZIP Code to locate substance use services, including for unhealthy alcohol and drug use, and mental health treatment centers.

Suicide Lifeline - If someone you know is suicidal or in serious emotional distress, call the toll-free National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK (8255). If medical help is needed immediately, call 911. Use the chat webpage to connect to a crisis counselor.

Finding Substance Abuse Healthcare Services

Behavioral Health Treatment Services Locator - Search by state and ZIP Code to find licensed public or private facilities and treatment programs.

SAMHSA's National Helpline - Call 1-800-662-HELP for confidential, free treatment referral and information service (in English and Spanish) for individuals and families facing mental and/or substance use disorders. This helpline is available 24/7, 365 days a year.

Partnership for Drug-Free Kids - Information for parents about drug and alcohol use. If you are concerned about your child, call 1-855-378-4373 or send a text message to 55753 for personalized help from a Helpline Specialist.

Quit Smoking Help - Talk with a tobacco cessation specialist, sign up for smoke-free texts, and find other resources by calling 1-800-QUIT NOW (784-8669).

SmokeFree.gov - Access their step-by-step quit smoking guide and additional resources below.

• English or Spanish chat webpages: Instant messaging services to get immediate information and answers about quitting smoking from a National Cancer Institute LiveHelp information specialist.
• SmokefreeTXT for Teens - Text message program for young adults who want to be smokefree.
• DipfreeTXT - Text messaging program for young adults who are ready to quit dip.
• quitSTART app - Free smartphone app that helps young adults quit smoking with tailored tips, inspiration, and challenges.

SmokeFreeTxt - Free mobile service for adolescents and young adults to provide 24/7 encouragement, advice, and tips to help smokers stop smoking for good.

BeTobaccoFree.gov - Comprehensive “one-stop shop” with tobacco information and methods to help people quit smoking.

Finding Health and Social Services for Youth

Report Child Abuse - Find state toll-free numbers for agencies that receive and investigate reports of suspected child abuse and neglect.

Dating Violence - Get advice about dating violence and how to prevent it using the live chat feature, a service funded by the Department of Justice. Text ""LOVEIS"" TO 22522 to connect to a trained peer advocate for education, support and advocacy on dating relationships.

Domestic Violence and Rape Assistance Locator - The U.S. Department of Justice's Office on Violence Against Women provides an interactive map that lists resources for rape and domestic violence prevention and assistance by state.

Runaway and Homeless Youth - The National Runaway Switchboard is the federally- designated communication system for runaway and homeless youth. Call 1-800-RUNAWAY or text 66008 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Homelessness Resource Center - Find local homelessness resources available near you.

Head Start Locator - Use this locator to find a Head Start or Early Head Start center near you. The searchable directory provides locations, addresses, and driving directions for Head Start programs, centers, and grantees.

Disability Resources - Find information and tools for benefits, community life, education, health, and more.

Youth Employment Programs – Find programs that help youth develop the skills they need to transition to adulthood and begin successful careers.

Support Services for Runaway and Homeless Youth-Basic Centers – This program provides emergency shelter services to runaway and homeless youth.

Help for Parents and Caregivers – FFind resources from the Administration for Children and Families to assist with adoption, addressing child abuse and neglect, child care, child support, Head Start, foster care, runaway youth, and more.

Transition to Adulthood and Independent Living – Get an array of resources and services supporting youth—including those in foster care and juvenile justice systems—to encourage healthy transitions to adulthood.

RAINN (Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network): Warning Signs for Teens – Use these tips to spot whether a teen may be experiencing abuse. If you suspect sexual abuse, you can talk to someone who is trained to help by calling the National Sexual Assault Hotline at 800-656-HOPE (4673) or chatting online.

Finding Reliable Health Information

Health Topics - Locate information for consumers on 1,600 health topics.

Health Information Telephone Lines - National Institutes of Health (NIH) provides telephone information lines to help you find information on diverse health topics, such as cancer treatment options, rare diseases, or child health.

Finding Assistance Programs

Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) - To apply for TANF assistance, please contact your state TANF agency.

Summer Meals for Children - Find locations near you that serve meals to children during the summer months by calling the National Hunger Hotline at 1-866-3-HUNGER (for information in English) or 1-877-8-HAMBRE (for information in Spanish). Text 97779 to the National Hunger Hotline (1-866-3-HUNGRY) with a question that may contain a keyword such as “food,” “summer,” “meals,” to receive an automated response to resources located near an address and/or ZIP Code. You may also text “Summer Meals” to 97779 to find a site near you. For information in Spanish, text “Verano” to 97779.

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) - Learn where and how to apply for SNAP. Most of the telephone numbers listed are toll-free; some accept collect calls. Find local retail stores that welcome SNAP Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) customers.
