  3. Green rocks?! Although the park is mostly filled with red rocks, green rocks can be spotted in certain locations. This green hue is from chemically reduced iron, as opposed to the red color caused by oxidized iron. Have you seen any strangely colored rocks? NPS/Martin Tow

  10. Meet the long-nosed leopard lizard (Gambelia wislizenii).☀️ These sunbathing reptiles are agile animals and have been documented jumping up to two feet in any direction! 😮 They are swift runners and run on their two back legs when they hit peak speeds. ⚡

  18. Most cacti in the area are pollinated by insects, but these vivid red flowers are specially adapted to attract hummingbirds, their primary pollinator. Claret cup blooms often cover the entire plant, but this one’s just getting started! NPS/Evelyn Tewksbury

  20. (3/3)The Grand County Sheriff's Office is investigating the accident, and it is still ongoing at this time. Our sympathies go out to the family members of the deceased and our thanks to all agencies that responded to assist with the accident.

  21. (2/3)There was one fatality that resulted from the accident. Emergency response personnel from the National Park Service, Grand County Sheriff’s Office, Grand County EMS, Moab City Police Department, and Moab Valley Fire Department responded to the scene to assist.
