    Happy St.Patrick's Day! Best of luck finding a four-leaf clover in Muir Woods, as we don't have any! Often mistaken for clovers, Redwood Sorrel cover the forest floor. Their large, heart-shaped leaves are bright green reminding us just how lucky we are to be surrounded by nature!

    These are the latest Golden Gate NRA, Muir Woods NM, and Fort Point NHS Closures following local Public Health Shelter in Place Orders. Please stay home, stay connected, and stay informed. Park incident team and law enforcement staff will be on duty to for essential services.

    Happy International Women's Month! Did you know it took until 1978 for the National Park Service to officially issue women the same uniform as men? That includes the iconic ranger badge! Today at Muir Woods, a majority of our Rangers are women who all wear the badge proudly

    Longer days and warmer weather are a great opportunity for a recreational beach fire! Fires are now permitted in fire rings at Muir Beach from 9AM to sunset. Be sure to bring s'mores and water to properly extinguish your fire! For more information visit .

    How has your 2020 been so far? Was one of your goals to see the largest living species in the world? To meet the second largest slug in the world? Good thing we have both! Muir Woods is home to creatures tall and small, although one is easier to find than the other. Happy trails!

    Pack it in, pack it out! Help us keep the forest clean and pack out any trash you create, disposing of it after your visit. Got yummy snacks? Make sure to eat before arriving as picnicking is not allowed in Muir Woods. What ways can you think of to help keep Muir Woods clean?

    Salmon Update Pt.2: Because are a Threatened species, sightings at Redwood Creek are a real treat! Next time you visit , keep an eye out for the Steelhead and ask a Ranger about what the park is doing to help this species thrive.
