Text from email from NCPC–As a reminder, the first NEPA Scoping Meeting for this project will be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at the Carnegie Library, from 4:00pm until 6:00pm.
This first meeting will be conducted in an open house format, with representatives from Events DC, the National Capital Planning Commission (NCPC), and the consultants available to share information and answer questions.
Events DC is proposing to rehabilitate the Carnegie Library located at 801 K Street, NW, on Mount Vernon Square in Washington, D.C. The National Capital Planning Commission (NCPC) is announcing the start of the public scoping period for the preparation of an Environmental Assessment in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). The preparation of the Environmental Assessment will enable NCPC to evaluate and analyze the environmental impacts of the project and alternatives under consideration. Concurrently, NCPC will be conducting consultation under Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act to take into account the effects of the project on historic properties.
